PETALING JAYA: Police raided a night club at Damansara Utama for operating without a valid license on Saturday (June 4).

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid said police raided the night club after receiving information that it was operating without a licence at around 1.30am on Saturday.

“We checked 70 men and 34 women there and determined that none of them had committed any offences nor had any prior wanted records.

“We then checked the premises for an entertainment licence and found that it was operating without one,” he said in a statement Sunday (June 5).

He said police then seized the music equipment used there.

“We have opened investigations under Section 6(1) of the Selangor Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment,” he said.

ACP Mohamad Fakhruddin said the premises had been raided a number of times last year.

“We had taken action against the premises for operating without a valid entertainment licence, not having a permit to sell liquor and operating beyond the permitted hours,” he said.

Those with information on similar activities should contact the Selangor police hotline at 03-2052 9999.
